"Compiling stories one garment at a time"

Shvalk is derived from a Sanskrit word which means ‘to narrate’. We at Shvalk strongly feel that everything and everyone has a story to narrate; and we want our wearers who are bound by societal norms to stand out in the crowd while narrating their story.

We take inspiration from cultures all over the world while staying true to our Indian crafts and heritage. Our purpose is to offer people an amalgamation of traditional handicrafts in their clothes all while breaking the norm.

All our collections are non-seasonal and we aim for each of our designs to be unique and timeless. We currently work on feminine designs catering to Indo western and Resort wear clothing; but our goal is to be a fashion and lifestyle brand for all.

 Founder's Story

Dikshita Falor is a fashion designer based in Chennai. Coming from a conservative family in Rajasthan, she’s always felt that wearing a certain type of clothing was made a norm in society. Her yearly visits to her paternal family in Jaipur since childhood always kept her bound to her traditions and local craft. But her never-ending curiosity and love for fashion turned her into a rebel and ignited her passion for fashion.

She is the first in her family to choose a creative field as a career, and she completed her education at MIT Institute of Design, in affiliation with the University Of Creative Arts, London. Wanting to learn everything about her field, she gained experience in various roles ranging from Designer to Social Media and management which even led her to explore the workings of Digital fashion and more.

The mix of traditions and her inquisitiveness for breaking out of the norm and standing out in the crowd is what she wants to offer to people in a similar place as hers; through her designer wear brand. With the belief that everything and everyone has a story to tell, she feels that fashion is much more than just a garment tossed over a body. It’s about collecting beautiful little pieces of yourself over time.
